Taipei Municipal Library Zhonglun Branch is a library with comic-themed collections. It has a whole floor of comic books, which is amazing! The most special area is the work area of Chinese cartoonists, which records the development history of Chinese cartoons. When the rich man used to work nearby, he would sometimes take a break at noon to read comics and relax.
Probably 90% comes from Japanese comics. Comics are divided according to content types: literature, sports, supernatural, social realism, art, science fiction and other areas. Let’s take a look at what’s in the collection.
General comics area
Literature and art
I have relatively little exposure to the shojo genre of comic book tycoon. Those who have an impression of it may be because they have watched the remake of the Japanese drama.
japanese writerFukami DunThe "Evil Girl" series. It will be remade into a Japanese drama in 2022, produced byImada MioStarring in "Evil Girl ~ Who Says Work Isn't Cool".
Sports
Andachong"H2" and "KATSU",Morikawa Choiji"The First Divine Fist" should be the manga with the most episodes in the history of the sports genre. The game that the rich man remembers most is when Makunouchi used the liver attack and the antelope punch on Sentou samurai in one step, and finally KOed the opponent. Phew ~ super hot-blooded of.Takehiko InoueThe super classic "Slam Dunk", I won't go into details about this, you know it better than the rich man.
social realism
I just watched the Japanese drama "I Am Big Brother" on Netflex a while ago. It turns out that it is also adapted fromHiroyuki NishimoriThe main character of the comic, Mitsuhashi, is really funny. The content is probably about describing the grudges between school gangsters with exaggerated hairstyles and other school gangs. The theme of Japanese school gangsters is also considered a classic. Many comics that Rich Man has read are of this type. It's more relaxed and happy, and it's also a tribute to youth (laughs).
Nagai Akihara"Medical Dragon" was adapted into a Japanese drama starring Kenji Sakaguchi, who is really cool.Shimabukuro Lightyear"Food Hunter" should be classified as science fiction (laughs). korean writerChoi Byung-yeolThe school comic "Hot Dog".
Satoshi YoshidaThe "Shonan Bosozoku" series is also the favorite of the rich. I still remember in one episode the protagonist hid on a train to avoid his enemies. Unexpectedly, there were so many people on the train that his afro was caught in the train door and he couldn't move. It was so stupid. Yes (laughs), there are plans for the 40th anniversary recently.
Akimotoji"Oolong Police Station" is also a super everlasting comic, with more than 200 episodes published, and it is the comic with the most serialized episodes certified by the Guinness World Records. It's awesome.
Science fiction
Rumiko Takahashi"Ranma Half" is actually classified as science fiction (laughs).Takaya Yoshiki"Forced Armor".
science fiction wizardOtomo KatsuhiroThe classic masterpiece "AKIRA".
Koji Inada"Mystery of the Dragon" is now known as "Dragon Quest"!
Supernatural
Osamu TezukaThe "three-eyed child".Qiao Linzhi"Start the devil's free work today".
Yumiki Takahashi"Devil's Apocalypse".Mochizuki Minetaro"Wish you all the best".
Kaitani Shinobi"Oda Kiri Kyoko's Lies", the rich man has watched the remake of the Japanese drama before, it is a light-hearted comedy plus mystery type. Kaitani Shinobu is also the author of "The Fraud Game".
Art
Yamahara Yoshito"The Legend of Dragon and Wolf", which travels through time and space and has comics with the theme of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, is recommended to friends who like the historical themes of the Three Kingdoms.
Out-of-print comics area
The bookcases full of out-of-print comics record every bit of the development history of comics in the past. Each comic is well preserved. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work.
Works area of Chinese cartoonists
This area is very exciting. It has a collection of the Godfather of Hong Kong Comics.Huang YulangMany of the teacher's classic Hong Kong comic works, including the everlasting "Dragon and Tiger Gate" series, some of which are over 30 years old, are not easy to preserve. It is really an eye-opener.
The later work "Legend of the Emperor", look at the 200P printing method, the protagonists are really exciting to fight!
Stuart Cambridge! He once worked as an assistant in Huang Yulang's studio. After leaving, he showed his talents and launched the "Super God Z" and "King of Fighters" series! I really don’t know what to say when I see these rich people. It’s so classic! I wonder if there is Kowloon Walled City (City of Darkness) that I can see!
correct! Many friends may have the same question as the rich man. Why are these comics so similar to the Japanese electric toys we are familiar with? In fact, many Hong Kong comics are inspired by Japanese video games. In the early days, there was not much concept of intellectual property, but in the later years, they almost got authorization and cooperated.
Also from Hong Kong writerXu Jingchen, also worked in Huang Yulang's studio, and his works include "Red Scorpion 13", "Street Fighter", "Super Century", etc. The rich man found a very funny comment on Wikipedia: Xu Jingchen plagiarized the Japanese cartoonistRyoichi IkegamiThe most famous one is that the painting style, composition and plot are very similar to the original work, hence the title of Ikegami Kagechen.
Hong Kong writerWang Ze"Old Master" series. When I was a kid, I also read a lot of "Old Master". Now that I think about it, it's quite ignorant. I was deeply impressed by it. When I was a kid, my dad would regularly go to the roadside newsstand and buy a thin, red copy of "Old Master". Some pages had to be cut open with a utility knife before they could be read. I really miss it. The one in the library is a new version that was released later. The rich man was quite impressed by the content of Old Master’s stories. Sometimes Old Master would pretend to be a beggar, actor, etc. His friend Dafanshu also had an interesting appearance. Then each article of Old Master would have a 4-character title. What the millionaire remembers most is that he often sees these four intriguing titles (laughs).
Taiwan’s must-see comic representativesLin Zhengde"Young Guns", the story of youth campus life and baseball club is an unbeatable theme. I still remember that the animation was launched when I was in elementary school, and LA BOY, who was super popular at the time, was responsible for singing the theme song. I will review it next time.
Special Collection of Early Taiwan Comics
"Challenging the Gate of Hell", "Dragon City Tiger Tyrant", "Death Duel", "Death City Secret Envoy", "Tiger Massacre Beyond the Pass" and other series look really exciting. Friends with elders at home can take them to reminisce. For a moment, friends in need can ask librarians to open the bookcases and read in the library. These comics tycoons who are already 50 or 60 years old are curious whether they will break when they are opened. They should be kept in museums for good collection. Right.
rich man experience
The Taipei City Library is really attentive. In addition to the comics introduced above, there are also many other types of comic collections in the library. You can come and dig for treasures. Before leaving the comic library, the rich man borrowed a few booksShotaro Ishimori"Kamen Rider" andUmezawa HarutoI went home to review the "Shenxing Taibao" book. When I was borrowing books, I met a child from an elementary school borrowing them.Ye Hongjia"Zhuge Shiro" comic, isn't that a comic from Grandpa's era? It’s so retro. Rich Man sincerely recommends it to friends who like comics. You must take a look and feel nostalgic.
As an aside, I went to a comic store near my home a while ago to see if there were any interesting comics. When I picked up a few books and was about to check out, the boss unexpectedly said that comics can no longer be borrowed out and must be borrowed in the store. See if you want to order a drink, there is such a thing! Well, I had to walk around a bit and borrowed it from the library. I really missed the time when I would happily go home after taking an exam and lie on the bed reading it leisurely, and then I would fall asleep (laughs).
