Introduction to old street

Nagoya Tokaido Sekijuku is one of the post stations connecting Kyoto (west) and Edo (east) in the Edo period of Japan.

Tokaido Sekijuku includes many well-preserved buildings, such as Edo period lodging buildings, shops, inns, teahouses, and temples. Here, you can feel the living atmosphere of the Japanese camp at that time, and appreciate the exquisite traditional architectural style and cultural artwork. In addition, Nagoya Tokaido Sekijuku is also an important tourist attraction, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit, don't miss it!

because in the pastYunoyama OnsenI will pass by on the road, so I stopped by to visit, but unfortunately, the time of visit is Monday, and most of the stores are closed, ah~

The entire area is actually quite large. It is about 2 kilometers away from the East Oifen to the West Oifen. The rich man’s family parked in the free public parking lot next to the foot soup of "Xiaowan no Yu" in Guansu (the orange box in the picture below). Then I walked to the Oifen Torii Gate in the East (the green frame in the picture below), and it took about 30 minutes to walk slowly and take pictures.

The whole street is full of antique Japanese buildings like this, and it is very easy to walk (because there are no people (laughs)).

There are more than 200 old houses preserved from the Edo period. People who like it can come here for a walk and feel it.

Walking along, there is a small viewing platform. The entrance of the viewing platform is here "Bailiu Liting". Don't miss the small house number. Walk in from the right hand side of the door and then go up the stairs to the 2nd floor. There is no charge for the observation deck.

Overlooking the entire Guansu Street, this is the only commanding height.

Along the way, we also passed the float garage used for the float festival. This garage is about 7-8 meters high. One can imagine that the float must be tall and big! The float is usually used by many strong men to carry it around during the sacrificial ceremony. It is said that those who help lift it will get good luck. For more information, there is also the "Sekijuku Gion Summer Festival" in July every year to display the floats. In addition to the mountain car hall, there are also "Seki MACHI NAMI Museum" and "Sekijuku Ryo Tamaya History Museum" that can be visited for a fee to learn more about the history of Sekijuku. Unfortunately, it was not open on Monday~

There are a few small hard-working shops that have been opened, and the decoration design is very elegant. This kind of retro small shop is very popular with rich people. I like it.
