Atsuta Shrine can be traced back to 1,900 years ago, when the divine sword "Kusanagi Sword" was enshrined here. Atsuta Shrine is one of the three major Shinto shrines in Japan, second only toIse Grand ShrineAtsuta Jingu has always been respected by people, and members of the Japanese royal family will visit it regularly. It is a very important shrine in Japan. The shrine is dedicated to one of the three gods of Ise in Japanese mythology – Atsuta Okami. There are many festivals and events held in Atsuta Shrine every year. The most famous one is the "Atsuta Festival" held on June 5 every year. It is one of the three major festivals in Japan and has been listed in Japan's intangible cultural heritage.

Unfortunately, during World War II, part of the building was destroyed by fire. After the war, believers across Japan worked together to donate money and begin reconstruction. The main building was finally restored in 1955. The hinterland of Atsuta Jingu Shrine is vast, and the rich man only visited the main shrine and Kusanagikan this time.

It was drizzling on the day the rich man visited the shrine. There were not many people visiting, so walking inside Atsuta Shrine was relaxing and comfortable.

Atsuta Jingu Shrine's other well-known treasure house of swords, "Kusanagikan", opened in October 2021 under the anticipation of everyone. It houses the Kusanagi sword, one of the three artifacts in Japanese mythology. Excalibur appears in many Japanese anime and science fiction. In the film, anime fans or those who like Japanese weapons should not miss it. The admission fee is 500 yen, if it is usefulNagoya one-day transportation pass20% discount on tickets.

The three major artifacts in Japan are: Kusanagi Sword, Bachi Qiong Gouyu and Yata Mirror. The Kusanagi Sword was originally called Tiancongyun Sword. It is said that it is the magic sword that appeared at the tail of Susano when he eliminated the eight-headed snake (Yaki no Orochi). After the sword was given to Amaterasu, it was enshrined in Atsuta Shrine, and military generals of all ages came to worship and pray for the protection of the sword.

The sword in the museum cannot be photographed. The museum contains the materials and process of casting the sword. Each window displays the precious knives of the past dynasties. There are also short videos to understand the myth of the Kusanagi sword. The point is that you can see that there are 500 swords. Introducing the Odachi

Finally, there is an experience hall! You can pretend that you are in ancient times and hold the 2.67-meter-long and 8-kilogram Ming Chidai Crane Guoan Odachi. It is really heavy. The rich man can only lift it up a little bit with both hands, which is quite fun.

There is also a rest area outside Kusanagikan where you can have a cup of tea and take a break.

Nagoya Atsuta Shrine is a shrine full of history and cultural heritage. It not only has exquisite architecture and ancient traditions, but also has rich festivals and activities. It is a tourist attraction worth arranging time to visit. Recommended!

After the visit to the shrine, if you were walking from "Jingu-nishi" station, you would probably see the torii gate first. But the rich man was walking from "Jingumae-mae" station, and the first thing he would see was Hakata ramen (laughs).

Hakata ramen

I recommend a Hakata ramen in front of the "Jingumae" station. It was already past two o'clock in the afternoon when the rich man arrived, so there was only the owner in the shop (laughs).

The interior decoration is simple, there are not many seats, about 15, and there are toilets.

The portions are generous, and Nagasaki strong noodles (ちゃんぽん) and wild vegetables are 1,050 yen. The soup has a little peppery taste, very satisfying to eat in a very large bowl, recommended!

Prayer to Osu Kannon in Nagoya

Nagoya Osu Kannon is one of the three major Kannons in Japan, along with Asakusa Kannon in Sensoji Temple in Tokyo and Tsu Kannon in Mie Prefecture. From Exit 2 of "Osu Kannon" Station on the Nagoya Municipal Subway Tsurumai Line, it takes 3 minutes to walk to Osu Kannon Temple. The traffic is very convenient.
